Each year OSHA is proud to send some of its best players to Pacific District Select Camps. In recent years, Oregon skaters have moved through the District camp, to the National level as well.
This year the camp will be held in Eugene at the Lane Events Ice Center.
Camp Date: January 21,2012.
What is the State of Oregon Player Development Camp?
The camp is the main avenue for elite player development opportunities, scouting, and placement on various elite teams as conducted by the state of Oregon. The emphasis on the State of Oregon Player Development Camp is on player development so all players are invited to attend. Coaches from all levels of hockey, high school, junior, and college will be in attendance to not only evaluate players for selection for the 2012 elite player opportunities, but also to work with athletes who may in future years be looking for elite hockey opportunities.
In years past, the Select process has offered little to players who are not selected. This year, the focus will be on development of the hockey player and the distribution of information as it pertains to elite player development. It will also be a one-day, all day affair centrally located in Eugene, OR. This will allow for all players, throughout the state, to attend the Development Camp and return home without incurring an overnight expense. It is our intention to make elite player development affordable to all players in our state. However, should you wish to stay overnight The Red Lion is used by many hockey families when coming to Eugene.
Each year, the State of Oregon will conduct player development camps and select players for the USA Hockey Player Development Camps for the Pacific District. Players who will turn 14, 15, 16 or 17 in the upcoming USA Hockey calendar year are eligible. This year, those birth years are 1998, 1997, 1996, and 1995 respectively. The process for the State of Oregon is the first step in the process of selection for the USA Hockey National Player Development Camps.
In addition, the State of Oregon conducts player develop for high school players in Junior and Senior year and selects players for the America's High School Showcase that takes place in April in Pittsburg, PA. The Showcase is heavily attended by various scouts of all levels including college. All players that are currently attending High School in Oregon and are juniors and seniors are eligible for this year's team. Certain restrictions apply to players from out of state currently attending high school in Oregon.

I'd like to take this opportunity to offer our apology for the problems that have occurred. It is always the goal of OSHA to offer the best opportunties to our players and to do so in a professional and responsible manner. We recognize that this year has had its share of problems but with each mistake that is made we learn from them and find ways to make sure that they don't repeat themselves in coming years.
Best of luck to all participants and safe travels to Eugene.
Respectfully,
Natalie McEwen, President
