USA Hockey requires that all invitational ice hockey tournaments that involve three or more legally-registered USAH teams and/or another amateur hockey federation or association receive the sanction of the appropriate registrar where the games will be held.
The definition of a tournament is a gathering of three or more legally-registered teams to play competitive games outside of normally scheduled league or exhibition games within a specified time frame where a champion is declared. This also includes gatherings of more than three teams, except Association Exchanges (limited to two associations) where there are no winners declared.
If your association or team is planning on hosting a tournament, please complete the attached Tournament Application form and submit it with the required payment and paperwork to receive the approval of OSHA and the Pacific District. To apply for tournament sanctioning:
1. Complete Attached Tournament Application Form
2. Include 2 checks - a) Application Payment of $50 for tournament with USAH member teams only OR $75 for tournament with Canadian or other foreign teams. Check should be made payable to USA Hockey, and b) Application Payment of $25 for Affiliate tournament fee. Check should be made payable to OSHA.
3. Include all Rules and Procedures of the tournament
4. Mail Tournament Application Form, Payment, and Rules and Procedures to OSHA office:
