The environment that we live in today is very different to what it was a year ago. The global economic and financial crisis has affected all of us. In troubled times, it is commonplace for the family unit to turn to family activities to provide hope, a sense of togetherness and stability. As parents, we understand the importance of continually engaging our children through sport, allowing them to develop as individuals, expanding their horizons through new experiences.
This is where OneGoal comes in to play, breaking down real and perceived barriers to the sport of hockey. At OneGoal we are proud to be contributors and facilitators of the sport of hockey. Through our web site, advertisements, equipment programs and our new marketing campaign - Vitamin H (VH) - OneGoal continues to educate, inspire and facilitate the hockey experience for today’s youngsters.

Eugene's Lane County Ice was the host for this year's Selects Festival. Over 50 of Oregon's best male and female skaters show cased their talents in front of an enthusiastic crowd of parents, coaches and evaluators. The camp was a combination of skill-drills and scrimmages which were designed by OSHA Coach In Chief Tim Moran and Portland Jr Hawks Coach Pat Moran.
Invited were skaters in birth years 1992-1995. Coach Moran mixed lines of male and female skaters for the second year in a row, with great success. Evaluators were invited from around the State for both the boys and girls to allow them to focus on subsets of players. Every player took away new skills and new friends.
Evaluating players was difficult as there was tremendous depth in talent, but the evaluators have made selections for the coming Pacific District camp which will, in-turn select players for the National Camp.

Robert Freeland, better known as Coach Bobby to all who knew him, left a profound positive image in everything that he touched. He was the ultimate player, coach, friend, father and husband. He passed away peacefully in June 2006.
In his honor, USA Hockey's Pacific District has created the:
BOB FREELAND HOCKEY GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT
This program, The Bobby Freeland Growth & Development Grant, epitomizes what Bobby stood for. He was always looking for ways to “grow the game” in any way he could. This program will keep that spirit alive. Use this grant wisely and his legacy will be carried on forever. MORE >>> |
